TWELVE Cheongdam: What to Eat, What to Buy & How to Visit

Plan a visit to TWELVE Cheongdam: compare the B1 food market and 1F café, explore menu and gift ideas, and check hours, transport and parking.

Is TWELVE worth a stop?

If you enjoy food shopping as much as eating out, I would put TWELVE on a Cheongdam itinerary. You can browse groceries, stop for a deli meal and look for a food gift in one building. It is a useful option when your group wants to keep lunch flexible.

TWELVE is the food market inside House of Shinsegae Cheongdam, which opened in December 2025 in the former SSG Food Market space. The market occupies B1; a separate TWELVE Café arrived on 1F in April 2026. Knowing that distinction makes planning much easier.

The B1 directory also lists Beton bakery, Balhyo Gotgan for Korean prepared food and Slow Pharmacy for gardening. You do not need to make the upstairs café the centre of every visit.

What to eat: deli downstairs, brunch upstairs

For a flexible lunch, start at TWELVE Kitchen. Shinsegae describes a deli format where you can combine dishes. The B1 Agora seating area was designed with roughly 100 seats and shared tables beside the kitchen and drink bar, with a sunken garden bringing daylight into the basement. This makes the market a sensible first stop for a browse-and-eat visit; seating availability still depends on the day.

For a meal built around a specific dish, look at the café menu. Shinsegae’s June 2026 magazine highlights these options:

  • Trio Salad: cilantro chicken, carrot râpée and a power bowl on one plate.

  • Classic Carbonara Bucatini: an egg-and-cheese carbonara prepared without cream.

  • Beef Banh Mi: brisket with cilantro, chimichurri and sriracha mayonnaise.

  • Meatball al Forno: veal meatballs with tomato sauce and Grana Padano.

These are published menu examples, not dishes I am claiming to have tasted. If cilantro is not your thing, ask about it before ordering the salad or sandwich. Confirm the current menu and prices at the café; I could not verify a complete current meal-price list from the official sources.

What to buy—and how much to set aside

For a traveller, I would start with the pantry shelves. A sealed condiment or packaged snack is easier to plan around than buying eggs or a bag of chilled groceries halfway through a day out. Read the storage instructions and choose something you will actually use; attractive packaging alone does not tell you how it tastes.

For a concrete sense of the premium pricing, Shinsegae’s September 12, 2026 gift announcement listed Proje Sannae sesame oil (200 ml) at KRW 55,000 and Paradi perilla-oil tare soba (270 g) at KRW 10,900. Custom gift boxes were priced separately at KRW 11,000 for medium and KRW 12,000 for large. These are dated examples, not a promise of today’s stock or prices.

A useful approach is to set a budget for the contents first, then decide whether the gift box is worth the extra cost. If you are shopping for a Korean-made gift, check the country-of-origin label rather than assuming every product in the market is made locally.

A simple route for a first visit

Allow about 60–90 minutes for a market browse and food stop. This is my suggested planning allowance, not a measured queue or service time; give yourself longer for a full café meal.

  1. Take one lap of B1 first. Compare the deli, drinks and pantry options before deciding where to spend your time and money.
  2. Choose your meal. Stay downstairs for a casual deli stop, or head to 1F if the café’s menu is the main reason you came.
  3. Buy groceries last. That keeps bags out of the way while you eat and shortens the time chilled purchases spend outside refrigeration.

With only half an hour, I would keep it to a pantry browse and a drink. With friends, decide whether you want the food hall or the café before meeting; “TWELVE” can refer to more than one part of the building.

Getting there, opening hours and parking

Destination: House of Shinsegae Cheongdam, 442 Dosan-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Use the full building name and address in your navigation app so you arrive at the Cheongdam location.

Listed regular hours: 10:30–22:00. These are the building’s published hours, not a guarantee that every food counter takes orders until closing. For a late meal, check the outlet directly. Building enquiries: +82-2-6947-1234.

By bus: the official guide lists route 4212 at Chaum Clinic Entrance and routes 343/4212 at Nonghyup. Use live directions from your starting point for the correct boarding stop and direction.

By car: the guide lists valet service and parking at KRW 3,000 per 10 minutes. Same-day purchases qualify for 1 hour at KRW 50,000, 2 hours at KRW 100,000, or 3 hours at KRW 150,000. The guide caps complimentary parking at 3 hours and says receipts or other free-parking tickets cannot be combined. Keep your receipt and confirm validation before leaving.

For a small purchase and a long browse, arriving without a car may be the simpler option. Check holiday opening and outlet details before making a special trip.

Who I would recommend it to

I would recommend TWELVE to visitors who want to combine contemporary food shopping with lunch, or who are already spending time in Cheongdam and want to browse for an edible gift. For everyday essentials on a tight budget, I would compare prices elsewhere first. For this stop, the appeal is the choice of food and shopping in one place.

The photographs here come from my visits between December 2025 and August 2026. Practical details were researched on September 29, 2026; dated menu and price examples are identified above so you can use them as a starting point for your own visit.
