The glowing green B outside OLIVE BETTER catches the wet pavement before you reach the door. Through the tall windows, the shelves look as colorful as a beauty store—but a closer look reveals protein snacks, tea, honey sweets and things for a slower evening at home.

OLIVE BETTER Seongsu makes a useful stop if your Seongsu shopping list extends beyond clothes and cosmetics. You can browse unfamiliar packaged foods, look for a small gift and stop at Better Bar without planning your whole afternoon around one product.

CJ OLIVE YOUNG's opening announcement dates the opening to October 30, 2026. At launch, the approximately 611-square-meter store was the largest OLIVE BETTER branch, spread across four levels from B1 to 3F. Our November 1 visit gives an early look at what is actually on the shelves.

Find the right store before you go

The address is 33 Seongsuil-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul—서울 성동구 성수일로 33. OLIVE YOUNG lists this address in its official Seongsu neighborhood guide. Search 올리브베러 성수점 in your map app and match the street address.

Seongsu has several OLIVE YOUNG destinations, so a search for the brand name alone can send you elsewhere. OLIVE BETTER at Seongsuil-ro 33 is distinct from the Beauty Mansion address and OLIVE YOUNG N Seongsu. Older results for an OLIVE BETTER pop-up at another store may also appear.

Compare your walk from Ttukseom or Seongsu on Line 2, or Seoul Forest on the Suin–Bundang Line, using the actual entrance. Choose the route from wherever you are starting rather than relying on one advertised walking time. Our Korea map app comparison can help with directions.

Check the current store listing before leaving. Better Bar's hours should be checked separately from the shopping floors, especially for an evening visit.

Start with the sweets and everyday discoveries

ALL THE BETTER products, the Sweets Library and a ginger-and-honey display inside OLIVE BETTER

The ground-floor displays make the store easy to explore without knowing the brands in advance. During the visit, an ALL THE BETTER display brought together colorful packets, gummies and small boxed products. Nearby, the Sweets Library arranged bags of sweets across a full wall, while a separate ginger-and-honey display grouped lozenges, candy and boxed drinks.

That mix is more interesting to browse than a list of supposed must-buys. Start with a flavor or format you already enjoy, then compare one unfamiliar option. A small sealed packet is easier to try than a large box bought only because its packaging looks good.

The shelves include both Korean and imported brands. Buying something in Seoul does not automatically make it Korean-made; look at the manufacturer and country-of-origin information if you want a specifically Korean souvenir.

Better Bar: a drink break inside the store

Better Bar counter with faces blurred beside the store's Protein Snacks selection

Better Bar is on 1F, with a yellow-green counter and staff preparing drinks behind it. The neighboring protein selection makes the connection between a prepared drink and the packaged-food side of the store easy to see.

The launch menu described by CJ included four protein shakes and four teas, with the ALL THE BETTER Soft Rice Smoothie and Lemon Ginger Honey Tea among the examples. The sign visible during the visit also highlighted the soft rice smoothie.

Treat those as ideas to look for on the current menu. Check the available flavors, price and ingredients at the counter before ordering; this visit does not establish how any drink tastes. If the bar is your main reason for coming, check its service hours first rather than assuming it stays open for the full shopping day.

The nearby Protein Snacks display is worth a separate look. Bars are arranged with flavor and nutrition information facing forward, which makes comparisons easier. Compare the same serving size and choose something you will actually want to eat on the rest of your trip.

Browse groceries, not just snack souvenirs

Four views of Gluten Free, Better Choice, Light Meals and Healthy Snacks shelves at OLIVE BETTER

The food floors go beyond a grab-and-go candy counter. The visit showed Gluten Free, Better Choice, Light Meals and Healthy Snacks signs, with products ranging from pasta and sauces to shake pouches, dried fruit and vegetable-based snacks.

For travelers, the useful distinction is between something you can enjoy now and something that needs a kitchen. A pasta sauce may suit an apartment stay; a small snack packet makes more sense when you are moving between hotels. Before buying a meal pouch, check whether it needs heating or additional ingredients.

Shelf headings help you find a section, but read the individual package for the information you need. A product's ingredients, allergen statement, serving size and storage instructions matter more than the broad name above the aisle. Likewise, a Healthy Snacks sign is a store category, not a reason to skip comparing the products themselves.

For gifts, consider weight and durability. Glass sauce jars are heavier than they look, crisp snacks can crush, and a large pouch can take up more suitcase space than a flat tea packet. Check your destination's rules before packing food to take home.

Tea and caffeine choices deserve their own stop

The tea selection offers a different kind of souvenir hunt. Daehan tea packets and boxes sat beside displayed tea leaves, while another shelf grouped milk tea, hojicha and other tea products under Caffeine Balance. SUPER BORI boxes nearby were labeled caffeine-free.

These are different products, so do not read Caffeine Balance as a promise that everything in the area is caffeine-free. Check each label. If you are choosing a gift, decide whether the recipient prefers tea bags, powder or another preparation method before comparing flavors.

A small tea package can be a practical alternative to another skincare purchase: easy to browse, relatively compact and connected to an everyday routine. Check the package's preparation instructions and the number of servings, especially when two boxes look similar in size.

Care products and a gift-wrapping finish

Bath textiles, skincare, branded goods, gift wrapping and the floor directory, with pictured faces blurred

The store also moves into home and personal-care territory. The visit showed patterned towels under My Bath Ritual, alongside skincare displays including REJUDEX, Dongkook and Daewoong-branded products. CJ's opening announcement describes a sauna-themed retail area and an In-Out Beauty concept connecting supplements, skincare and devices.

The towels and wrapping materials make this part of the visit feel more like gift shopping than a search for a single trending beauty product. A textile gift can be appealing when you do not know someone's skincare preferences, although it takes more room in a bag than a snack or tea packet.

For skincare, start with the type of product and its instructions. Do not choose an unfamiliar item solely from a prominent ingredient name or a display's promotional wording. If you want a tester, use the store's provided method and ask staff when it is unclear.

The Better Wrapping Station had branded yellow bags, decorative stickers and rolls of wrapping material. Before counting on it, ask which materials are available and whether there is a charge or purchase condition. The display alone does not establish that every wrapping option is free.

A simple route through all four levels

The floor directory photographed during the visit is a useful starting point:

LevelWhat the directory lists
1FEat Well, Protein Library, ALL THE BETTER, Wellness Routine Bar
2FEat Well, Nourish Well, Glow Well
3FEat Well, Tea & Coffee Selection, Relax Well, Care Well
B1Checkout, Goods, Better Gift Station

Start on 1F if you want to see Better Bar, explore the upper floors according to your interests, then use the directory to find checkout in B1. Check the in-store signs when you arrive, since displays and services can change after opening.

OLIVE BETTER fits particularly well into a Seongsu day built around browsing, tea and small gifts. Keep the rest of the walk flexible: choose the bar if you want a drink, the tea shelves if you want a compact souvenir, or the food aisles if you have a kitchen during your stay. Our Seoul Forest and Seongsu afternoon guide offers nearby ideas, while the Seoul accommodation comparison helps decide whether Seongsu should be a day trip or your base.
