Where to Store Your Luggage in Seoul: Lockers, Hotels and Storage Services

Where to leave bags in Seoul before check-in or after checkout: hotels, T-Locker, T-Luggage counters and private storage, with hours, sizes and backup plans.

You landed at 7 a.m. and check-in is at 3 p.m. Or you checked out at 11 and your flight leaves at 9 tonight. Either way, you don't want to haul a suitcase through subway transfers all day. Seoul has good options for this. The trick is picking the one that matches your route.

Is T-Luggage still operating?

Yes, as of mid-October 2026. A June 2026 Dong-A Ilbo report described staff at the Hongik University counter checking bags in and out. On October 15, T-Luggage's booking page still listed Seoul Station and Hongik University in its branch selector. Branches do change, though. The operator's guide now marks Suseo as suspended, so don't rely on older branch lists. Check the current selector on the day you go.

Decide in 30 seconds

Ask yourself three things:

  1. Will I pass my accommodation again today? If yes, ask them to hold your bags. It's usually the least effort.
  2. Where am I going next? If it's the airport, store your bags at a station you'll leave from, so you never backtrack.
  3. How big is the bag, and when will I pick it up? Large suitcases and late pickups rule out the most options. Check these two things first.

Costs depend on bag size, duration and the day of the week, so compare actual quotes. A staffed counter isn't always the expensive choice.

Ask your accommodation first

Many hotels and guesthouses will hold bags, but policies vary, and some charge a fee or keep limited hours. Message ahead with your arrival or departure time and ask plainly. If they agree, ask whether you'll get a claim tag, and photograph your bag. If you're arriving late at night, don't assume someone will be at the desk. Get confirmation in writing.

T-Locker, T-Luggage and T-Storage are different things

  • T-Locker: self-service lockers inside subway stations. You pay a base fee for 4 hours, plus extra if you stay longer.
  • T-Luggage: staffed counters at major stations. Staff check in your bag, and delivery is a separate service.
  • T-Storage: monthly storage. You don't need it for a short trip.

How size, payment and hours work

Size. Ignore the "24-inch" on the suitcase tag. Measure the real outer dimensions, including wheels and handles, and compare them with the compartment and the door opening. Even a carry-on can fail to fit a small locker.

Payment. Seoul's official subway storage page notes that T-Lockers include newer and older machines, and the older ones may work differently. Don't assume every machine accepts your foreign card, cash or app payment. Bring a backup payment method.

Hours. The city currently lists T-Locker access hours as 05:00 to 24:00 every day, and you can't store or retrieve bags outside them. Don't treat these T-Lockers as 24-hour facilities. Access hours and how long a bag may stay are separate questions, so ask about the maximum storage period before leaving anything overnight.

Seoul Station before the airport train

This is the classic plan. Drop your bag, spend the day light, then collect it on your way to the airport railroad. The booking page lists the Seoul Station center on B1, in the direction from Exit 1 toward Exit 2, open 09:00 to 22:00.

We tried the booking form on October 15 with one medium bag for October 16, and it showed an estimated ₩4,000. We didn't submit or pay, so treat that figure as an example, not a fixed price. Your quote depends on the date, bag size and duration, so check the final amount on screen.

Seoul Station is huge and serves several rail operators. Follow the center's posted location and the station signs, and leave plenty of time to collect your bag before your train.

Hongdae on the all-stop airport train

Hongik University Station is on the all-stop airport train line, so you can shop, eat and leave for the airport from the same station. The airport express train doesn't stop here. The booking page puts the T-Luggage center on B1, in the Line 2 passage connecting to the airport railroad, open 09:00 to 22:00. Head for that passage rather than hunting for street exits with your bag.

A slow afternoon in Seongsu

Seongsu is perfect for café hopping near Seoul Forest, but don't plan around a T-Luggage counter there. Better options:

  • Leave your bag at your accommodation, or at a station you'll pass later anyway.
  • Try a T-Locker along your route, and have a second station in mind in case it's full.
  • Search for nearby private storage on Naver Map or KakaoMap, and check its hours and recent reviews first.

Late pickups and private storage

Match your storage to your pickup time. The Seoul Station and Hongik University T-Luggage counters above close at 22:00, so for a later pickup you'll need a different choice. T-Locker access ends at midnight. If you'll pick up after midnight, you need a provider with confirmed 24-hour access.

One example near Seoul Station is LuggageDot, an independently run self-service store outside the station at 9 Huam-ro 57-gil, Yongsan-gu. It advertises 24-hour access. VisitSeoul's official listing, updated on August 24, 2026, also lists it as a 24-hour self-service store near the station.

Its posted pricing is ₩1,000 per locker for each started hour, so 2 hours and 1 minute counts as 3 hours (₩3,000). The hourly session ends when you open the locker to retrieve your things, so take everything out in one go. Compartments are listed at 870 × 400 × 570 mm (H × W × D). The site says they take cases up to 32 inches, but measure your bag rather than trust that number. It lists physical card and cash payment. Reservation requests only count once the operator contacts you to confirm, so submitting the form doesn't guarantee a locker.

Confirm the address, pickup access and booking confirmation before you leave your bags.

When plans go sideways

  • Lockers full: Busy stations fill up. Know your second choice before you arrive.
  • Big suitcase: Go to a staffed counter or a provider that lists large compartments, and ask whether they'll accept your bag. Don't spend time testing small lockers.
  • Running late: Check the closing time before you drop off, not after.
  • Keep three things: your booking confirmation, a photo of the locker number and location (station, exit, floor), and your receipt or PIN. Underground corridors all look alike.

Storage or delivery?

Storage means your bag waits in one place until you return. Delivery means someone moves it for you, to your hotel or the airport, for example. Choose delivery if you don't want to go back for your bag at all, and check the booking cutoffs and price first. If you'll pass the spot again anyway, plain storage is simpler.

Frequently asked questions

›Can I leave my bags in a T-Locker overnight?

Access and storage time are separate questions. T-Lockers can only be opened between 05:00 and 24:00, so you can't retrieve a bag after midnight. Whether a bag may stay overnight, and what that costs, depends on the maximum storage period and overage rules, so confirm with the operator first.

›Do I need a Korean phone number to store luggage in Seoul?

It depends on the service. Some self-service machines or booking forms may ask for a phone number for a PIN or pickup alert. Check the exact machine or app requirements before you go, and if you're unsure, ask whether your accommodation or a staffed counter can hold your bags instead.

›What should I do if I lose my locker receipt or PIN?

Don't try to force the door. Use the support contact posted on or near the machine, and have the card you paid with plus your photo of the locker number and location ready so staff can confirm the bag is yours.
